On the back side will be 6-10 review questions that will spiral concepts they have learned this year and in previous years. The Spiral Review worksheet will be due every Friday and counts as 20 of their final grade. On the front side of the worksheet students will complete their weekly warm-up questions. It helps me to really connect with them in the classroom. Every week students will be given a Spiral Review worksheet. I just love learning little details about my students. If lots of students get the answer wrong at first, I know we need to review during small groups! If a student doesn’t know the answer, I have them go to the back of the line and I tell them to listen real carefully! They usually have a correct answer by the time they get to me again. This end of year (or throughout the year) spiral review will engage and challenge your students while getting them to really show. You can also try out a Knockout game, which is a fun 10-minute. Creating buzzword bingo with mathematical terms or making up your own card game can be a fun and effective way to reinforce previously learned concepts. If it is a question with just one right answer, have students whisper the answer in your ear. Spiral review math activities help students to be successful as math tasks become more complex. This ensures all second grade math standards have been previewed, practiced, and reviewed before the school year ends.
